EPDM Giscolene® rubber membranes can be used in tunnels of all kinds, generally speaking we can divide them into:

• Underground tunnels where waterproofing is executed from inside the tunnel prior drainage fitting. EPDM Giscolene® 120 or 150 rubber membrane rolls 1.5m wide are used throughout the vault mechanically anchored and are usually grouted. Counter-vaults are also usually waterproofed with EPDM Giscolene® 80 or 100 in sheets or modules prefabricated as per civil work development.

• Surface tunnels (false tunnel) where waterproofing is executed from outside the tunnel over prefabricated bolted segments or box abutments, large modules can be used in these cases which speed up and secure the work tightness. The draining layer is laid over the waterproofing prior to covering with lands.
